Today is the first day of autumn and I couldn’t wait to start decorating the house for my favorite season. And, as a film student, I of course had to get some cozy fall decor inspo photos and cinematic video shots of the occasion! Here are the pics I took to get you in the fall spirit.
I’m planning to set up more decorations for Halloween soon, but I think this was a pretty fun start. So also be on the lookout for upcoming decor and seasonal photography posts! Fireplace Decor

Here’s my fireplace! I got a classic fall leaf garland and added fresh mini pumpkins from Walmart, dried corn cobs, various sizes of pinecones, and cute Halloween jack-o-lantern string lights. It’s cozy and fall-themed while also looking clean and modern, and it’ll last all the way til Thanksgiving (minus the Halloween lights)! I might introduce some more spooky Halloween decorations to the setup soon once we get to October.
Candles and Tea

I got the Better Homes and Gardens Snickerdoodle Swirl candle at Walmart the other day and I absolutely ADORE it! It smells delicious – a mix of sweet fall spices and warm vanilla. I paired it with the pumpkin spice candle I already had for a perfectly creamy pumpkin scent that was exactly what I wanted!
We use Fiesta brand dishware in our house – the quality is great and the brand is very popular. In the photo I’m using my red Fiesta coffee mug for my tea, but I also found some other cute fall coffee mugs on Amazon that might be cool to check out!
The pumpkin spice black tea in the photos is unfortunately no longer sold (I think I got it from HomeGoods a while back) but there are other great options at places like Walmart (such as this one from the Bigelow Tea Store brand).
My #1 tip for pumpkin spice and chai flavored teas is to always add a little bit of honey (even if you prefer unsweet tea). A small amount of honey really helps bring out the spice flavors that otherewise aren’t very prominent – trust me, the flavor difference is HUGE. In addition to a scoop of honey, I also love adding Chobani’s pumpkin spice flavored creamer to my tea (and of course it’s great with coffee, too)!
And finally, the orange potholder the mug sits on can be handmade at home with orange 100% cotton yarn or 100% wool yarn woven with this Melissa & Doug wooden craft loom! I plan on posting a DIY tutorial in the future since it was so easy for me to make.
